I had a sinking feeling before the short dance even started that something was going to go wrong. I even imagined what I would write on Twitter if one of them were to fall. It started out so brilliantly. I adore the new opening, even with the excessive amount of manboob grabbing that Scott does. He just gets right into character! Then, bam. Scott's down. He got up so quickly that if you blinked, you might have missed it. I knew right then that they didn't have a hope in hell of winning. Scott charmed the pants off the audience with his reaction to the replays of the fall in the kiss and cry. Little did we all know what we'd be saying about him in just a couple days time.

The free dance came along. Kaitlyn and Andrew were brilliant. I was in tears right along with her at the end. They deserved the bronze over Pechalat/Bourzat but they don't seem unhappy and were grateful for a strong fourth place finish.

Scott and Tessa also skated brilliantly. They ramped their season's best up by a huge amount. Any happiness was short lived though. Meryl and Charlie beat them, again. Not just overall, which was expected but in the free dance. Maybe I'm so biased that I just don't see it but how are they anywhere near as good? I don't understand it. Neither does Scott. I had a sinking feeling as soon as I read a comment on Twitter. Scott Moir and the phrase "piss-off" in the same sentence can't be good.

The ever passionate and emotional Scott Moir strikes again. I didn't like his comments and yes, I was aware before that he is arrogant but it never struck me as a bad thing until now. I wish that he had kept his mouth shut. I wish that the more rational and level-headed Tessa had been the mouthpiece for the two of them. But what's done is done. Scott was visibly not himself during the gala and Tessa seemed bound and determined to chatter away almost incessantly at him.

What happens now?? What changes will we see to their programs come Nationals? What will happen if, god forbid, they don't find themselves at the top of the podium at 4CCs and Worlds? Something's gotta give. I know they're not quitters and are fiercely competitive, so I hope it won't be a retirement announcement.
